Creating a Job Advert

Modified on Fri, 14 Oct, 2022 at 11:56 AM

Follow the steps below to find out how to create and edit an advert, how to save it as a template and how to repost a previous role.

How to Create an Advert

1. Click the 'Create a Job Advert' button at the top of your Dashboard

2. Select the Job Category and title and click 'Create Advert'

  • Please note, the 'Job Category' is the industry the job is in, not the company
    • For example, if a law firm was hiring for a receptionist, the job category would be 'Admin and Secretarial'

3. You will then be taken to the job advert generator (we call it the JAG)

  • In the JAG, on the left there will be fields for you to complete, which will make up your job advert
    • Here you can add detail such as the job type, position, salary, benefits, essential criteria etc
    • You will also be able to upload your company logo here along with a video about the role if you have one
  • On the right, will show you what your advert will look like once published

4. Once you are happy with your advert, click 'Save & Continue'

5. The advert is then sent through to our Copywriting team

How to Edit an Advert

1. In the Jobs tab, find the advert you wish to edit and click the three dots icon (...)

2. Select 'Edit Advert'

  • You can also click into the job, select 'Job Actions' and choose 'Edit Advert' from the drop-down

3. You will be taken to the JAG (Job Advert Generator), where you can make amendments to your advert

  • Please note, any changes you make to any LIVE adverts, will not be changed on the job boards
  • If you want to edit a live advert, this will need to be reposted using another credit

How to Save a Job Advert as a Template

Your SRO Portal also gives you the ability to save an advert template, so you can use this for future adverts, if you often advertise for the same/similar roles.

1. Click 'Create a Job Advert', select the Job Category and Role name and click 'Create Template'

2. Once the advert is complete, save it and go back to the Jobs tab

3. In the Jobs tab, click 'View Job Templates'

4. A list of templates you have created will show here, click on the three dots icon (...) on the one you want to use and select 'Use Template'

5. This will take you to the JAG with the template you selected to use

  • Here you can edit the advert how you wish and save

6. You can also create a template from an existing job advert; on the Jobs tab, click the three dots icon (...) on the job you want to use and select 'Copy as template'

How to Repost a Previous Job role

1. In the Jobs tab, find the role you want to post again and click the three dots icon (...)

2. Select 'Duplicate Job Advert', this will take you back to the JAG

3. Duplicating the Job Advert will create a brand-new campaign and applicants will return to zero; with no old applications from the previous campaign

  • If you only select 'Edit Advert' and readvertise the role, this will not be reposted to the Organic Free Job Boards such as Indeed
    • This is because they recognise that the link has already been used to advertise the role, this is why we recommend selecting 'Duplicate Job Advert' to readvertise a role
